A BILL to amend and reenact section six, article nineteen, chapter thirty of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, relating to foresters; and qualifications for license; applicants for registration as foresters; examination; and fees.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That section six, article nineteen, chapter thirty of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 19. FORESTERS.
§30-19-6. Qualifications for license; examination; reexamination; fee.
(a) Applicants for registration as foresters shall qualify under one of the following categories:
(1) Possession of a four-year forestry degree and two years' experience of a nature satisfactory to the board. The board may require an applicant to pass an oral or written examination, or otherwise meet the approval of the board.
(2) Possession of a two-year forestry degree and four years' experience of a nature satisfactory to the board. The board may require an applicant to pass an oral or written examination, or otherwise meet the approval of the board. (b) Written and oral examinations shall be at such time and place as the board may determine. The methods and procedure shall be prescribed by the board. A candidate failing an examination may apply for reexamination at the expiration of six months and shall be entitled to one reexamination without payment of an additional fee. Subsequent reexaminations may be granted upon payment of a fee to be fixed by the board.


NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to change the qualifications for licensing and registration as foresters.
